MY STORY

I didn’t set out to understand life this way.
There wasn’t a moment when I decided to look beyond what was visible. It happened gradually—through experiences I couldn’t fully explain but couldn’t ignore.

Even as a child, I felt connected to something greater. But it wasn’t until later—when I started creating A Sister’s Call—that everything began to shift in a more meaningful way.

I started noticing synchronicities—moments that felt guided, events unfolding in ways that didn’t seem random. I had no experience in filmmaking, yet everything seemed to align as if it were… orchestrated.

Over time, that awareness grew deeper, especially in nature. There were moments—unexpected, quiet, and often fleeting—when something happened that felt deeply meaningful.

I started trusting my intuition. It became how I understood the world, how I recognized meaning, and how I felt guided—even when I didn’t understand why.

Through my mystical journey with my brother, my books, the reminders through numerology, and especially my connection with my dog Gus—I realized something even deeper. Love doesn’t end. Connection doesn’t fade away.

I don’t see myself as someone who has all the answers for others. I simply share what I’ve experienced.

Nature is always speaking.
Life is constantly responding.
And we are never truly alone.

A Life of Service

As my understanding of connection deepened, so did my desire to serve.

Over the years, I have been drawn to people, communities, animals, and causes through a series of meaningful synchronicities that often felt guided and purposeful. I've learned to recognize when I am being called to help. It arrives as an inner knowing that is difficult to explain, but when that feeling comes, I know I need to answer it. What has touched me most is that every act of giving has become a gift in return.

From supporting indigenous children in the mountains of Peru and helping families in Rwanda, to conservation efforts in Africa, educational programs in Bhutan, healing initiatives in Bali, and humanitarian projects in Colombia, each experience has deepened my understanding of our shared humanity. Some of these moments have been extraordinary.

One of the most meaningful has been my connection with Baaba Maal and his partner, Suzette, and the work of NANN-K, which means "Listen To This." What began through an unexpected series of synchronicities surrounding my daughter's wedding has grown into an enduring friendship and a deep commitment to supporting women and communities in Senegal. Looking back, I can see how every step seemed to be gently guiding me toward something far greater than I understood at the time.

In Botswana, I witnessed the relocation of endangered rhinos to safety and later had the privilege of naming a baby rhino Grace.

In Colombia, a simple conversation led to the creation of a kitchen that now serves children living near the Venezuelan border.

In Rwanda, what began as a visit to see mountain gorillas became years of supporting families and children whose lives forever touched my own.

I have come to realize that service is not separate from spirituality.

It is one of the ways love moves through the world.

Whether through indigenous communities, conservation efforts, humanitarian causes, or simply showing up when life presents an opportunity to help, I continue to trust the same quiet guidance that has led me throughout my life.

Nature is always speaking.
Life is constantly responding.
And sometimes the greatest privilege is simply saying yes when we are called.
